Unfazed
by the sweltering heat, more than 640 YMCA staff, students and volunteers went
on an island-wide street collection for the YMCA Flag Day 2017 on 18 March.
Over $15,438 of dollar notes were collected, and 25 bags of coins were sent to
the Singapore Mint for counting.
The
funds raised will go towards YMCA Silver Fiesta, an event that promotes
intergenerational bonding and an active-ageing lifestyle amongst the elderly
through Arts & Cultural based programmes, including traditional opera
performances and handicraft sessions.
